Abstract:

Background: It has been found that many factors affect the physiological performance of athletes, in this regard, researchers are trying to discover and identify the factors that affect the performance of athletes, and it is completely accepted that Sleep is one of the necessities of health. This study aims to investigate the effect of 30 hours of Sleep deprivation on the response of orexin-A levels and pulmonary function to an anaerobic activity in active male students. Methods: This research was conducted semi-experimental and in the form of a pre-test and a post-test. The protocol was that in the control position, after 12 hours of fasting and 8 hours of sufficient Sleep, in the experimental position after 12 hours of fasting and 30 hours, complete insomnia of the subjects was investigated in the student dormitory with controlled conditions. Results: The information related to the comparison of post-test and pre-test in two experimental situations (Sleep deprivation) and control (sufficient Sleep) showed that orexin-A hormone increased significantly in Sleep deprivation conditions compared to resting conditions and this difference is considered significant at the (p=0.001) level. Insomnia also caused significant changes in physiological indicators. Conclusion: Thirty hours of Sleep deprivation caused an increase in orexin-A levels, which shows the importance of night Sleep, which is one of the influential factors related to obesity and overweight.

Abstract:

Sleep DISTURBANCE PLAYS A PROMINENT ROLE IN FIBROMYALGIA. THE MAJORITY OF FIBROMYALGIA PATIENTS EXPERIENCING SOME Sleep PROBLEMS. FATIGUE, TIREDNESS AND INSOMNIA WERE INCLUDED IN THE 2010 DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA FOR FIBROMYALGIA.POOR Sleep QUALITY HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH PAIN IN THESE PATIENTS. THE DIAGNOSIS OF FIBROMYALGIA INCREASES THE CHANCE OF PERSISTENT PAIN (E. G. CHRONIC DAILY HEADACHE, MIGRAINE), MORNING STIFFNESS, FATIGUE, Sleep DISTURBANCES (E. G. DIFFICULTIES IN FALLING OR STAYING ASleep, EARLY MORNING AWAKENINGS, NON-RESTORATIVE Sleep AND RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME), ANXIETY disorders, MOOD disorders, IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME AND IRRITABLE BLADDER. GENETIC AND NEUROENDOCRINE FACTORS LIKE SEROTONIN ABNORMALITIES MAY PLAY A ROLE IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF PAIN, MOOD disorders AND NON-RESTORATIVE Sleep IN FIBROMYALGIA.THESE PATIENTS ALSO HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER Sleep LATENCIES, INCREASED AROUSALS, DECREASED SLOW WAVE Sleep, REM AND TOTAL Sleep TIME.THE FIRST STEP IN MANAGEMENT OF FIBROMYALGIA IS THE DIAGNOSIS OF ANY UNDERLYING disorders AND OBTAINING THE PATIENT’S Sleep HISTORY. NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT INCLUDE EDUCATION ABOUT Sleep HYGIENE, INCREASING DAYTIME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, ELIMINATION OF ANY PHYSICAL FACTORS THAT INTERFERE WITH Sleep, GOING TO BED AND WAKING UP AT THE SAME TIMES EVERY DAY, AND AVOIDING ANY FOODS OR MEDICATIONS THAT MAY ADVERSELY AFFECT Sleep.PHYSICAL METHODS, SUCH AS ULTRASOUND MAY INCREASE SLOW WAVE Sleep AND DECREASE THE PERCENTAGE OF STAGE I Sleep AND REDUCE FATIGUE, PAIN AND THE NUMBER OF TENDER POINTS. TRANS-CRANIAL DIRECT CURRENT STIMULATION OF THE PRIMARY MOTOR CORTEX MAY DECREASE PAIN AND IMPROVE Sleep QUALITY.SELECTIVE SEROTONIN REUPTAKE INHIBITORS AND TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS FOR TREATMENT OF COMORBID MOOD disorders MAY BE USEFUL BUT WORSEN RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME. MEDICATIONS LIKE PREGABALIN, DULOXETINE AND MILNACIPRAN IMPROVE Sleep QUALITY IN FIBROMYALGIA PATIENTS. OTHER DRUGS SUCH AS AMITRIPTYLINE, TRAZODONE AND GABAPENTIN MAY ALSO POSITIVELY INFLUENCE Sleep. SODIUM OXYBAT, THE SODIUM SALT OF GAMMA-HYDROXY-BUTYRATE INCREASES SLOW WAVE Sleep, DECREASE Sleep FRAGMENTATION, REDUCE PAIN AND FATIGUE AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE. DOPAMINE AGONISTS CAN IMPROVE Sleep DISTURBANCES IN FIBROMYALGIA PATIENTS WITH CONCOMITANT RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME.

Abstract:

History and Objectives: Sleep disorders are very common in children and with various manifestations and for the latter reason, their complications are less commonly recognized as behavioral, learning disturbances, and/or neurobehavioral. Considering the high incidence of such disorders, this research study was carried out to find the ways for diagnosis and treatment of Sleep disorders. Materials and Methods: This review article was prepared by carefully studying 35 article from 1993to 2000 and the reference Developmental behavioral pediatrics. Results: It was found out that Sleep disorders are the most common complaints among children and can lead to inattention, and memory and learning disturbances. The Sleep disorders include somnolence, no Sleep, associated respiratory problems, nightmare, consciousness disturbances, and disorders of motor behaviors and nocturnal urination. Furthermore, it can lead ton to other systemic disturbances and/or psychological disorders. Conclusion: Although Sleep disorders are very common in children, but they are often not diagnosed and can lead to neuro-psychological disturbances. It is recommended to consider the Sleep disorders in differential diagnosis of behavioral and learning problems in children and to perform more studies in this field.
